"School Grounds are at the heart of every school" This is the message from the new Love School Grounds website, which explains why school grounds matter. It was developed on behalf of the Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto school grounds sector partnership and is supported by the Department for Children, School and Families. “We believe every child and young person should experience the world outside the classroom as an integral part of their learning and development, complementing learning in the classroom. High quality education outside the classroom can stimulate and inspire; foster independence, aid personal and social development and can often motivate reluctant learners. Education Outside the Classroom Manifesto, Department for Education and Skills This year’s National School Grounds Week (9th-13th June) supported the new Love School Grounds campaign and was participated in and enjoyed by schools across the country. |
